Fans of Natsume Ono’s distinct storytelling style have a major reason to celebrate. According to announcements from Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan magazine, the celebrated creator is set to launch a brand-new manga spin-off titled KORORE. The series will officially debut in the magazine's third 2027 issue, scheduled for publication on February 25, 2027.
Much like her previous work BADON, KORORE takes its name from one of the distinct 13 territories comprising the Dowa Kingdom. This shared geopolitical setting originally captured readers' imaginations in Ono's critically acclaimed ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept., which ran from 2013 to 2016 and later inspired a celebrated 2017 television anime adaptation by Madhouse alongside the 2020 sequel OVA Regards.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Natsume Ono has built an extraordinary bibliography defined by sophisticated character dynamics and atmospheric European-inspired settings. Her notable works include House of Five Leaves, Ristorante Paradiso, and La Quinta Camera, many of which have received English releases from publishers such as Viz Media, Yen Press, and Kodansha USA. Beyond her solo manga projects, Ono continues to collaborate across different creative mediums, including providing original character designs for director Shingo Natsume and Madhouse.
