Titan Manga has officially announced the English acquisition of Rei Yamada’s supernatural manga series Mountain God’s Personal Manga Artist. Readers in Western markets can look forward to the release of the first volume on May 18, 2027, across major book retailers.
Origins and Supernatural Premise
Originally launched on Mag Garden’s MAGCOMI website in May 2024, Yamada’s series has steadily built a dedicated following, compiling two tankōbon volumes in Japan as of April 2025. The narrative follows a burnt-out creator seeking solace in the countryside, only to cross paths with an eccentric mountain deity holding an unexpected appreciation for contemporary manga.
After retreating to the countryside in search of a fresh start, a burnt-out creator encounters an eccentric mountain god, an ancient being with a surprising interest in modern manga. What begins as a chance meeting quickly turns into an unusual arrangement: the artist will create stories to entertain the god, in exchange for a place to stay and a chance to rediscover their passion.
As the collaboration unfolds, quiet moments in nature blend with gentle supernatural encounters, allowing the protagonist to heal from creative fatigue. Titan Manga confirms that pre-orders for the debut English volume are now active via Titan Manga partners including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, and Forbidden Planet for European collectors.
