Publisher and developer CAPCOM has announced that action-RPG juggernaut Monster Hunter Rise has officially surpassed 20 million units sold globally across all platforms.
The title initially launched exclusively for Nintendo Switch in March 2021 before making its way to PC via Steam in January 2022. Following sustained commercial success, Capcom brought the title to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows in January 2023. The game's major expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, debuted in June 2022 on Switch and PC before rolling out to remaining console platforms in April 2023.
Franchise Momentum
The landmark sales milestone underscores the sustained vitality of the long-running hunting franchise alongside its mainline successor, Monster Hunter Wilds. Originally launching in February 2025 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, Wilds reached 10 million units shortly after its release, with an upcoming expansion titled Monster Hunter Wilds Ascendance slated for 2027.
