The magical detective agency is heading back to school and into magical realms as Meitantei Precure! prepares for an unmissable crossover event. Ahead of its upcoming broadcast, Toei Animation has released official story details and preview cuts for episode 39, titled Ojamajo na Halloween, which features a direct collaboration with Toei's iconic magical girl classic, Ojamajo Doremi.
The current 23rd installment of the storied Precure franchise follows Akechi Anna, a 2027 middle schooler who finds herself hurled back to 1999 via a mysterious time slip. Teaming up with aspiring detective Kobayashi Mikuru and the genius fairy Jet-senpai, Anna transforms into Cure Answer to solve complex mysteries and thwart the villainous Phantom Thief Syndicate. In the upcoming milestone episode airing on October 25, the narrative shifts toward festive chaos as the shopping district prepares its first-ever Halloween celebration.
Spooky Inquiries and Special Costumes
Amidst the preparations, Anna and her companions cross paths with a young girl named Hinano who has lost her mother. While attempting to reunite them, the group encounters the witchy adversary Ageseine, who promptly steals Hinano's precious broom powered by a Makoto Jewel. When the magical tracks vanish, the detectives must rapidly adapt their disguises to avoid being recognized while hunting down the thief.
Newly revealed production stills give fans an enticing look at the elaborate costumes prepared for the holiday. Most notably, the characters can be seen donning outfits inspired directly by Ojamajo Doremi, blending Toei's modern detective magical girls with nostalgic witch wear.
