During its latest CAPCOM Spotlight livestream, publisher CAPCOM unveiled new gameplay footage for Mega Man: Dual Override, highlighting the distinct playstyles of its dual protagonists. Players can choose between the traditional, balanced buster combat of Mega Man and the aggressive, close-range assault of Protoman. The showcase provided a deeper look at the core combat loop, featuring Custom Chips, Special Weapons harvested from Robot Masters, and the game-defining Override mechanic.
Beyond gameplay systems, CAPCOM announced an immediate crossover DLC with its sci-fi project Pragmata. The free update adds Mega Man and Roll themed skins for characters Hugh and Diana, rendered across two distinct stylistic variants. Mega Man: Dual Override is set to launch in spring 2027 across Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Voice Production and Context
The project's development context includes broader industry friction. Earlier this year, voice actor Ben Diskin confirmed he would not return as the titular character after being asked to perform outside union protections, following a SAG-AFTRA work order issued against the title. Nevertheless, the classic franchise continues its momentum alongside recent releases like the Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection.
