The official production team behind the upcoming television anime adaptation of Rinne Ishida's historical fantasy light novel series Matsurika Kanriden (The Legend of Bureaucrat Matsurika) has expanded its voice cast. Ahead of its scheduled broadcast across Tokyo MX, MBS, TV Aichi, and BS11 in January 2027, the project confirmed the inclusion of two prominent performers to bring key characters to life.
Voice actors Hiyori Kouno and Takuya Satou are officially joining the ensemble, stepping into the roles of Ro Lian and Akatsuki, respectively. They join a production anchored by animation studio Maho Film. The creative direction is spearheaded by director Yuuichi Nakazawa, with series composition managed by Touko Machida. Character designs are crafted by Manami Inose, while musical accompaniment is handled by composer Takurou Iga.
The source material originates from Rinne Ishida's light novel series, launched under the B's-LOG Bunko imprint in July 2017 with illustrations provided by Izumi. The franchise has since expanded into a sprawling literary universe, featuring a manga adaptation by Waka Takase serialized in Monthly Princess since August 2018, alongside a spin-off manga by Mito Aoi.
