Creative Staff and Production Pedigree
Behind the scenes, the adaptation is steered by director Kiyoko Sayama, renowned for her work on Vampire Knight. The series composition is handled by Shinzo Fujita, whose previous credits include To Your Eternity, while Yuriko Maeda translates Nana Iwamoto’s delicate character designs into animation for J.C.STAFF. International streaming is managed globally by Prime Video.
The source material stems from Nana Iwamoto's acclaimed josei manga, which launched in Shogakukan’s Monthly Flowers magazine in September 2016 and secured the top spot in the female category of the 2018 This Manga is Amazing! guidebook. VIZ Media recently licensed the English publication, bringing the historical fantasy epic to a wider global audience.
