The official website for the television anime adaptation of Nao Iwamoto's acclaimed fantasy romance manga The Seven Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom (Marronnier Ōkoku no Shichinin no Kishi) has expanded its voice cast. Four new actors have joined the production to voice the royal family of the Country of Long Nights, a key destination in the narrative.
The Royal Family of Long Nights
Beginning in episode four, characters Eleonora, Insomniac, and Johanne arrive in the Country of Long Nights on a critical diplomatic mission. To bring this realm to life, J.C. Staff has enlisted four veteran voice actors to portray its governing figures.
Naomi Shindou steps into the role of Hyrokkin, the formidable queen of the Country of Long Nights. Alongside her, Atsushi Ono portrays the prince consort Rollo, while Ai Kayano brings life to Birgitta, the queen's eldest daughter and heir presumptive. Rounding out the royal household, Yurie Funato voices Kastehelmi, Birgitta's daughter and third in line to the throne.
Production Pedigree and Origins
Directed by Kiyoko Sayama at animation studio J.C. Staff, the series adapts Nao Iwamoto's celebrated manga, which originally launched in Shogakukan's Flowers magazine in 2016. The source material previously topped the list for female readers in Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook back in 2018, establishing a dedicated following.
The adaptation benefits from an experienced staff, including series script supervisor Shinzō Fujita, character designer Yuriko Maeda, and composer Yoshiaki Fujisawa. Following its broadcast premiere on NHK Educational, Amazon Prime Video continues to stream the series internationally with simultaneous English subtitling and dubbing options.
