The official website for the brand-new Magic Knight Rayearth television adaptation has expanded its voice cast, adding three notable actors to portray Hikaru's classmates. The series officially launched on October 7 during TV Asahi's late-night programming block, bringing the legendary magical girl classic back to television screens.
Production and Voice Cast
The latest additions to the ensemble include Mao Ichimichi, Natsumi Takamori, and Miyuki Sakurai, who join the expanding roster of characters inhabiting the magical world of Cephiro. This new iteration is being brought to life under the direction of Yui Umemoto at E&H Production, with Takayuki Sano assisting on production duties.
Narrative construction is being overseen by Shigeru Murakoshi, while Satomi Watanabe handles character designs. Meanwhile, the sonic atmosphere is shaped by a powerhouse trio of composers: Yuki Kajiura, Takumi Ozawa, and Shiho Terada, ensuring the legendary auditory identity of the franchise remains intact.

Originally conceived by the legendary manga collective CLAMP, the Magic Knight Rayearth manga ran in Nakayoshi magazine from November 1993 to February 1995, followed swiftly by its sequel series. Over the decades, the property has undergone multiple English language publications by Tokyopop, Dark Horse Comics, and Kodansha USA, cementing its enduring status as a cornerstone of the magical girl and mecha crossover genres.
