More than three decades after CLAMP's legendary dark-fantasy shojo manga captured the hearts of a generation, Magic Knight Rayearth is preparing for a monumental television return. Revealed during a special panel at the Kyoto International Manga Fair 2026, the upcoming reboot is scheduled to premiere on October 7, 2026, airing across two consecutive cours on TV Asahi's "IMAnimation W" programming block.
Animation production is being spearheaded by E&H production, the studio founded by acclaimed action director Sunghoo Park, with Yui Miura directing the series. The technical roster boasts an impressive lineup, featuring character designs by Satomi Watanabe, Rune God mecha direction by Hiroki Mutaguchi, and a collaborative musical score composed by Yuki Kajiura, Takumi Ozawa, and Shiho Terada. The central trio of transported schoolgirls will be voiced by Ayane Sakura as Hikaru Shidou, Rumi Okubo as Umi Ryuuzaki, and Rie Takahashi as Fuu Hououji.

The newly unveiled second promotional video highlights the scale of Cephiro's impending doom, offering a fresh look at the dynamic spellcasting, fluid mecha action, and ominous threats facing the three heroines. Alongside the video, the production team announced the voice cast behind Lord Zagato's elite forces sent to eliminate the Magic Knights.

Theme Songs and Creator Statements
The anime's opening theme song, titled "Otome no Tsurugi," will be performed by Toaka, while the ending theme "Hoshitobi" is delivered by Yurina Kawaguchi. Expressing her excitement for the project, voice actress Mamiko Noto reflected on joining the production:
