Publisher Clear River Games announced that it is bringing Taito's classic SNES RPG duology together in Lufia 1 and 2 The Sinistrals Saga. This comprehensive collection bundles Lufia & the Fortress of Doom and its celebrated prequel Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals, with a scheduled launch across Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam in 2027.
Alongside the announcement, a debut trailer was shared to showcase the revival of these iconic Super Famicom adventures for contemporary hardware platforms.

The first game tells the tale of a young man—the descendant of a legendary hero—and a young woman, burdened by the weight of destiny.
The prequel tells the story of Maxim—a young man who would later be hailed as a hero of legend—and his companions and their battle against destiny.
A Legacy of Classic RPGs
The original Lufia & the Fortress of Doom, known originally as Estpolis Denki on the Super Famicom, first debuted for the Super Nintendo platform back in 1993. Its critically acclaimed prequel, Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals (Estpolis Denki II), followed shortly after on Super Famicom in 1995 and SNES in 1996. The franchise also previously received a Nintendo DS reimagining titled Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals in 2010.
This initiative follows Clear River Games' ongoing efforts to preserve classic 16-bit gems, including their upcoming release of Quintet's legendary 1995 SNES action-RPG Terranigma for modern systems featuring specialized quality-of-life additions.
