Shueisha's Jump J-Books novel imprint has officially announced a two-volume novel adaptation for the original Netflix anime series Love Through a Prism (also known as Prism Rondo). The upcoming books will expand upon the Edwardian-era romance created by Yōko Kamio, famed for her legendary shōjo masterpiece Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango).
Both volumes are scheduled to ship on December 4, featuring brand-new cover artwork commissioned exclusively for the release. The first volume is titled Prism Rondo: London no Sora ga Aokatta Hi (The Day London's Sky Was Blue), while the second volume carries the title Prism Rondo: Unmei wa Canvas no Mukō ni (Destiny is Beyond the Canvas).
Set against the atmospheric backdrop of early 20th-century London, Love Through a Prism follows the determined art student Lili Ichijoin as she strikes a high-stakes agreement with her parents: achieve top marks at her academy within six months, or face an immediate return home. Her academic ambitions quickly spark a fiery rivalry with Kit Church, an eccentric wealthy heir and artistic genius.
The multimedia project was brought to life at Wit Studio, featuring original character designs and story concepts by Yōko Kamio, who also co-wrote the scripts alongside Saki Fujii. Directorial duties were handled by Kazuto Nakazawa, known for his work on B: The Beginning and Vassalord, with animation direction by Yasuko Takahashi and musical compositions by Naoki Chiba.
Beyond the upcoming novels, the sprawling franchise has already established a substantial footprint across media formats. Following its Netflix debut on January 15, the property inspired a manga adaptation by Special A creator Maki Minami, which launched across Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ and Manga Mee platforms. With Kamio's historic career firmly cemented by the Guinness World Record held by Boys Over Flowers, this latest novel expansion proves the enduring appeal of her romantic storytelling.
