West Japan's premier manga, anime, and gaming convention, the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (Kyomaf) 2026, has officially confirmed its dates for September 19 and 20, 2026. Taking over Miyako Messe, ROHM Theatre Kyoto, and the Kyoto International Manga Museum, this milestone 15th iteration promises an unprecedented convergence of pop culture across the historic city.
The main exhibition floors will host a record-breaking 63 companies and organizations, including Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation, KADOKAWA, Aniplex, Contents Seed, Mainichi Broadcasting System, DeNA, and Kansai Television. Major booths will feature exclusive merchandise and character meet-and-greets. Additionally, the newly established Creative Stage will host ten distinct programming tracks, bringing together creators, producers, and industry veterans to share behind-the-scenes insights into contemporary animation and gaming production.
Anniversary Programming & Stages
Across the main Kyomaf and Miyako Messe stages, an all-time high of 27 special stage programs will spotlight massive multimedia franchises, including Detective Conan, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, and Fate/Grand Order. Attendees can also secure exclusive merchandise featuring special anniversary crossover visuals across hit properties such as The Apothecary Diaries, Tokyo Manji Gang, and Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian.
Special attractions continue with the Kyomaf Cafe Stand offering themed menu items, alongside ambassador-designed refreshments curated by voice actor Yuki Kaji and voice actress Sumire Uesaka. Marking the 15th anniversary, organizers have also assembled an exhaustive retrospective exhibition showcasing past key visuals featuring Tsukasa Kyo and Moe Uzumasa, alongside an ema votive prayer partnership with Heian Shrine.
Kyomaf 2026 will run from September 19 to September 20 across its primary Kyoto venues. Ticket sales opened on July 16, welcoming local fans and international travelers alike to partake in one of the seasonal highlights of the Japanese convention calendar.
