The highly anticipated Kusuriya no Hitorigoto cinematic project, officially titled Gekijouban Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Bouhi no Hihou, has locked in an official theatrical debut for December 11, 2026. Alongside this confirmation, the production committee has unrolled a massive wave of updates, detailing theatrical release bonuses, advanced ticket configurations, and a nationwide television special.
Based on the globally celebrated light novel series authored by Natsu Hyuuga and published under the Imagica Infos Hero Bunko imprint, the franchise has crossed over 57 million circulating copies worldwide. The narrative follows Maomao, a sharp-witted young poison-taster thrust into the intricate politics and dark mysteries of the imperial inner palace. Following the broadcast runs of the first and second television anime seasons, the upcoming theatrical feature introduces an entirely original narrative penned directly by Hyuuga, centering on an elaborate mystery concealed within a floating water city.
Theatrical Premiere Details and Special Screenings
To celebrate the completion of the feature film, an exclusive world-premiere screening event is scheduled for December 5 at an undisclosed venue in Tokyo. Main voice cast members Aoi Yuuki (Maomao) and Takeo Ootsuka (Loulan/Lihaku/Jinshi), alongside new theatrical additions Ai Mikami, Marina Inoue, Kensho Ono, and Miyuki Sawashiro, will take the stage for a special greeting panel.
Beginning November 13, audiences can secure second-wave advance tickets (Mubichike), featuring distinct designs highlighting Maomao, Jinshi, and newly introduced key characters. Theater-goers purchasing tickets at participating locations will receive a limited-edition clear file utilizing the original teaser visual, capped at 50,000 units nationwide.
