Immediately following the broadcast of its twelfth and final episode, the official team behind Kore Kaite Shine (Draw This, Then Die!) announced that a second season is officially in active production. Produced by Shin-Ei Animation, the television anime adapts the celebrated slice-of-life drama manga by Minoru Toyoda, continuing the earnest coming-of-age story of a young artist stepping into the world of professional comic creation.
The narrative follows Ai Yasumi, a first-year high school student residing on the island of Izu-Oshima whose love for reading manga eclipses everything else in her daily routine. When she embarks on a journey to Tokyo to attend COMITIA—aiming to visit the booth of her long-inactive favorite creator, Hoshi no Rei—a chance encounter reshapes her path. Driven by a desire to understand how creative works come to life, Ai begins taking her initial, hesitant steps toward becoming a serialized mangaka.
How does one become a manga artist? Ai steps into the world of manga creation—a path she thought she understood, yet knows so little about.
