During the Dengeki Bunko Autumn Festival Online livestream event, publisher Kadokawa confirmed that an anime adaptation of author Kien Aien and illustrator Ogipote's sci-fi fantasy light novel series, Kochira, Shumatsu Teitai Iinkai (This is the End Stagnation Committee), is currently in active development.
While the promotional video announced the greenlight, key production details remain under wraps. The animation studio, main voice cast, broadcast format, and definitive premiere window are slated for reveal in subsequent production dispatches.
The Premise and Origin
Originally launched under Kadokawa’s Dengeki Bunko imprint in July 2024, the light novel has accumulated six volumes. The premise centers on Kotoha, a former mafia syndicate operative who finds himself abruptly reincarnated into another realm, only to cross paths with a cohort of maidens fighting against imminent planetary collapse.
The property previously expanded into sequential art via a manga adaptation illustrated by Yutaka Sakurai, serialized digitally on Kadokawa's Shonen Ace Plus web platform since April 2025.
