The ambitious collaborative project between Toei Animation and tokusatsu titan Tsuburaya Productions has crossed its next major milestone. The upcoming feature Kaiju Decode: Aidara no Yubiwa (Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara) revealed its third key visual alongside a debut teaser trailer, locking in a premiere window for 2027.
Stemming from the multimedia franchise launched to bridge monster folklore and human connection, the feature explores a world where humanity struggles alongside gigantic ecological anomalies. The new visual highlights Coco, a young girl from the Aidara tribe, reaching out peacefully toward the colossal creature Gira. In stark contrast to standard monster-hunting narratives, the imagery hints at an ideological clash between coexistence and exploitation.
The teaser offers our first glimpse at actual animation footage, paired with voice performances from lead cast members Aya Yamane as the hunter Maru and Karin Takahashi as Coco. The dynamic between Maru—who tracks kaiju to survive—and Coco's empathetic bond with the beasts forms the emotional spine of the conflict.
