Production Pedigree and Legacy
Director Mamoru Hatakeyama returned from the first three seasons of the hit romantic comedy adaptation to helm the project at A-1 Pictures, working alongside character designer Yuko Yahiro. The core voice cast—including Konomi Kohara as Chika Fujiwara, Ryota Suzuki as Yu Ishigami, Miyu Tomita as Miko Iino, and Yumiri Hanamori as Ai Hayasaka—reunited to reprise their respective roles.
Based on the acclaimed manga by Aka Akasaka, which ran in Shueisha's magazines from 2015 to 2022, the Kaguya-sama: Love Is War television anime originally launched its broadcast run in 2019. Following subsequent seasons and theatrical projects, the franchise continues to remain a cornerstone of modern romantic comedy animation.
