CyberAgent has officially announced that veteran voice actor Yūichi Nakamura is joining the ensemble cast for the highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Takeru Hokazono's hit manga Kagurabachi. Nakamura will step into the role of Soshiro Azami, a powerful sorcerer affiliated with the mysterious Kamunabi organization.
Production & Staff Roster
The anime adaptation is set to premiere in April 2027, with global streaming planned simultaneously outside of Japan and select East Asian territories. Production is being handled by studio Cypic under the direction of Tetsuya Takeuchi, known for his key animation work on Naruto and directorial work on From Bureaucrat to Villainess. Character designs are penned by Keigo Sasaki, whose portfolio includes Blue Exorcist and Uma Musume: Cinderella Gray.
Nakamura joins a stacked vocal lineup that includes:
- Taihi Kimura as Chihiro Rokuhira
- Tomokazu Seki as Kunishige Rokuhira
- Katsuyuki Konishi as Togo Shiba
- Miku Itō as Hinao
- Miyari Nemoto as Char Kyonagi
Serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since September 2023, Kagurabachi rapidly evolved into one of the magazine's premier dark fantasy titles. The story follows Chihiro Rokuhira, a young swordmaker's son who embarks on a brutal quest for vengeance armed with enchanted blades crafted by his late father.
With over 4 million copies in circulation, Takeru Hokazono's work has earned critical acclaim globally, claiming top honors at the Next Manga Awards 2024 and securing nominations for the Shogakukan, Kodansha, and Eisner Awards.
