The official X account for author Kisetsu Morita and illustrator Benio has announced that their signature comedy fantasy light novel series Slime Taoshite 300-nen, Shiranai Uchi ni Level Max ni Nattemashita (I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level) will officially conclude with its 30th volume. SB Creative is scheduled to publish the final book under its GA Novel imprint on October 15.
Morita initially launched the cozy fantasy narrative on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in June 2016 before SB Creative acquired the series for print publication starting in January 2017. Over the years, the adventures of Azusa Aizawa captured a massive readership, accumulating over 3 million copies in circulation. The franchise also spawned multiple spin-off light novels focusing on fan-favorite supporting characters such as Beelzebub, Halkara, Laika, and Wynona.
Alongside the original light novels, Yuusuke Shiba launched a manga adaptation in Square Enix's Gangan Online in 2017. Both formats have achieved international success through English publisher Yen Press. The broader franchise further expanded into television animation, featuring a first season produced by studio Revoroot in 2021 and a second season produced by studio Teddy.
