Toshiya Wakabayashi’s popular comedy manga Happy Kanako’s Killer Life (Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu) is officially making the jump to television. TOHO animation has confirmed that a TV anime adaptation is scheduled to premiere in April 2027, bringing Wakabayashi's signature blend of corporate burnout and dark humor to the screen.
Veteran director Shinji Takamatsu, widely recognized for his work on Gintama and Kochikame, is helming the project as both director and scriptwriter. Animation production is being handled by studio Drive, with Yoshiyuki Okubo acting as character designer and chief animation director. The lead role of Kanako Nishino will be voiced by Hana Tamegai, joined by Ryota Suzuki as her prickly senior coworker Sakurai and Junichi Suwabe as the company president.
