During the Crunchyroll industry panel at New York Comic Con 2026, fresh updates regarding the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Sucker Punch Productions' acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima video game surfaced. While the presentation brought exciting announcements regarding additional cast and creative personnel, it also confirmed that the series has been pushed back to a 2028 premiere, moving away from its previously targeted 2028 window.
Joining the voice cast are seasoned talents Mayumi Saco, known for her work on Vinland Saga Season 2, and Shinya Fukumatsu, recognized from Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi. Specific character assignments for both newly announced cast members remain under wraps for now.
Creative Staff and Production Pedigree
The adaptation is being helmed by director Takanobu Mizuno at studio Kamikaze Douga. The narrative foundation is supported by veteran screenwriter Gen Urobuchi handling series composition alongside scriptwriter Satoshi Maejima. Character designs are spearheaded by Takashi Okazaki, while the sonic landscape is crafted by sound director Yoshikazu Iwanami, sound effects designer Yasumasa Koyama, and composer Keiji Inai.
