Tokyo MX has officially confirmed that the television anime shorts based on industrial manufacturing company Taica's shock-absorbing mascot character Gelpiyo are returning for a sequel series. The new installment is scheduled to premiere on the Tokyo MX1 channel on October 21, continuing the quirky adventures set in the mysterious Geltown.
The upcoming production brings back the principal voice cast from the inaugural 10-episode run, which originally debuted on January 21. Joining the ensemble for the sequel are guest cast members including Park Yu Chun as a fortuneteller and RIP SLYME hip-hop artist SU appearing as himself. Musical contributions feature Silent Siren performing the opening theme song titled "Atta UMA," while NEVER END ROLL provides the ending theme "Ganbatterutte Saikō Jan!" Additionally, members from both musical groups will voice in-story counterpart characters within the narrative.
Franchise Background
The unique project stems from Taica's promotional efforts centered around their proprietary "Alpha Gel" material—a high-performance shock-absorbing gel. In the narrative framework, Gelpiyo and similar mascot entities possess the physical elasticity of Alpha Gel, allowing them to bounce back from any setback. Deployed by Alpha Industry into the enigmatic Geltown to advance a playful plot for world domination, these characters inevitably become entangled in various local mishaps instead.
