Expanding its growing catalog of localized Japanese titles, Manga Mavericks Books has announced the official English acquisition of Sho Yonoko's supernatural comedy manga, Gago Hunters: Greetings from Amatsumizu City's Gago Suppression Squad (Amatsumizu-shi "Gago" Bokumetsu Dayori: Gagohan). Readers can expect both physical and digital editions to hit shelves in July 2027.
Originally debuting on HERO'S Web in September 2023, the series follows an unorthodox group of reluctant civil servants tasked with purging a town overrun by mysterious entities known as Gago. The mayor's budget-constrained initiative drafts an eccentric crew consisting of a hair stylist, a cashier, a high school student, and an apprentice, all of whom harbor uniquely dangerous traits of their own.
Brothers of Japan Variant Cover Revealed
Alongside the Gago Hunters announcement, the publisher revealed a special online store-exclusive variant cover for Taiyo Matsumoto's acclaimed Brothers of Japan (Nihon no Kyoudai) manga, scheduled for release in February 2027.
Established in April 2025 by the creators behind the Manga Mavericks website and podcast, the publishing imprint continues its mission to spotlight and distribute indie manga from Japanese creators to a global audience.
