To commemorate three decades since the serialization of Yu-Gi-Oh! began in Weekly Shonen Jump, the first comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the original manuscripts of late creator Kazuki Takahashi has been officially announced. Titled Kazuki Takahashi Art Exhibition YU-GI-OH! ART WORKS, the landmark showcase will open its doors on December 12, 2026, at the CREATIVE MUSEUM TOKYO in Kyobashi.
A Retrospective Across Five Chapters
Kazuki Takahashi transformed both the manga industry and global gaming culture through his masterwork. Beyond his role as a storyteller, Takahashi acted as a primary character designer, game creator, and monster concept architect. The upcoming retrospective guides visitors through his creative process across five thematic chapters, displaying over 370 hand-drawn original manuscript pages, rare color illustrations, early character concepts, and previously unreleased developmental sketches.
Exclusive Collectibles & Visitor Bonuses
Exhibition tickets will feature optional premium bundles including the Proof of the King of Duels collection item. This special display set recreates the iconic three Egyptian God cards—Slifer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor, and The Winged Dragon of Ra—in their original in-manga Magic & Wizards designs with specialized foil finishings. All attendees will also receive a random two-layered peel-off sticker from a seven-design set designed to mimic drawing a card from a deck.
Alongside the manuscript exhibits, event-exclusive merchandise including large acrylic figures of Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba, specialized bath towels, relief plates, and collectible acrylic monster cards will be available on-site.
The exhibition runs from December 12, 2026, to February 21, 2027. Organizers have confirmed that this retrospective is exclusive to Tokyo with no touring schedule planned.
