The latest physical retail figures from Famitsu for the week of September 21 to September 27 show a competitive stretch across Japanese storefronts. Taking the crown in its debut frame, Game Addict's simulation sequel Derby Stallion 2 captured first place with 29,336 physical copies sold.
Nintendo Holds Ground
Close behind the top spot, evergreen performance defined the upper ranks. Rhythm Heaven Groove secured second place with 27,309 copies, officially crossing the million-seller threshold with 1,049,922 lifetime retail units. Meanwhile, Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave maintained strong momentum in its sophomore week, moving 26,728 copies to bring its total to 153,859.
Major franchise debuts rounded out the upper half of the top ten:
- Silent Hill: Townfall (PS5) debuted at #4 with 13,596 copies.
- Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition arrived at #5 with 10,844 sales.
- EA Sports FC 27 claimed multiple positions across platforms, led by its PS5 release at #6 with 9,873 copies.
Capcom's Onimusha: Way of the Sword also maintained presence across platforms, pushing its PlayStation 5 run past 110,000 physical copies sold to date.
