The latest sales data from Famitsu covering August 31 through September 6 highlights a massive launch week for CAPCOM and their revived action franchise. Onimusha: Way of the Sword captured the highest spot on the weekly retail charts, pulling strong numbers across both hardware platforms during its opening window.
The PlayStation 5 version led the charge with 76,530 copies sold, taking the number one position overall. Meanwhile, the alternate platform edition on Nintendo hardware also made a notable impact, securing the third rank with 19,499 units moved. This strong showing demonstrates enduring consumer interest in the feudal tactical action series.
Elsewhere on the charts, evergreen titles continued steady performances alongside fresh entries. Nintendo maintained its stronghold with titles like Rhythm Heaven Groove and Tomodachi Life holding firm in the upper tiers, while Bandai Namco's My Hero Academia: All's Justice made its initial appearance on newer hardware.
