The upcoming animated adaptation of Reno Lemaire’s popular French manfra Dreamland has revealed three additional voice actors for its Japanese dub. Produced by Ellipse Animation and La Chouette Compagnie under the direction of Juan Pablo Machado, the series is scheduled to debut in Japan on October 17, 2026, with international streaming secured via Crunchyroll.
The newly announced additions to the Japanese voice cast feature veteran talent taking on key roles: Takuya Eguchi steps into the role of Savane, Hiroyuki Yoshino voices Sabba, and Masahiko Tanaka portrays Jung. These performers join an already robust lineup headlined by Kakeru Hatano as the pyrophobic protagonist Terrence, alongside Asami Tano, Kaede Hondo, Daisuke Namikawa, Takuya Matsumoto, and Serika Hiromatsu.
Production Background & Origins
Originating as a French manga-inspired comic created by Reno Lemaire and published by Pika Edition since 2006, Dreamland has amassed twenty-four volumes. The adaptation bridges European comic artistry with Japanese animation traditions, offering a distinct visual style that has caught the attention of global audiences.
The narrative follows Terrence, a teenager crippled by pyrophobia ever since witnessing his mother perish in a house fire. When he finally stops running from his inner demons in his sleep, he awakens his dormant potential as a Traveler—someone capable of navigating the surreal dimensions of Dreamland, a realm forged entirely from human dreams and nightmares.
With character designs and production designs continuing to roll out ahead of the autumn broadcast, anticipation for this cross-cultural animation project remains high. Fans across North and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS can look forward to streaming the series on Crunchyroll.
