The upcoming international co-production Aoki Densho Welsh & Shedar has expanded its voice cast with three notable additions ahead of its scheduled October 2, 2026 broadcast on Tokyo MX. Developed as a French-Japanese collaborative project, the fantasy series continues to ramp up its promotional campaign following previous key visual reveals and staff announcements.
The newly unveiled cast members stepping into the World of Twelve include Wataru Takagi as Khan Karkass, Sho Hayami as Azalar, and Risa Hayamizu as Mama Caroni. They join a prominent roster of previously confirmed talent, featuring Rikuya Yasuda in the title role of Welsh, Yuki Kaji as Shedar, Yuko Kaida as Zabel, Makoto Furukawa as Joris, and Risa Kayama as Bechamel.
Behind the camera, Naoki Horiuchi directs the series at STUDIO MASSKET. Character designs are crafted by Saori Nakashiki, while musical composition is led by Pierre-Jean Beaudoin and Jose Pavli. The original concept and scripts originate from ToT, with Kenichi Yamashita handling series composition for the Japanese language broadcast. Production duties are shared between Ankama and Studio Dream Catcher.
Ankama has confirmed that the fantasy adaptation will run for a total of 12 episodes, featuring multi-language dubs in Japanese, English, and French. International audiences can anticipate a planned worldwide release, with further distribution specifics scheduled for disclosure as the broadcast approaches.
The narrative centres on Zabelle Sheran Sharm, queen of Bonta, whose tyrannical rule over the World of Twelve faces an impending prophecy foretold by her son Shedar. To thwart her, a young cook named Welsh must locate the Ivory Dofus artifact with the help of legendary companions to liberate their world from destruction.
