The iconic martial arts franchise returns to television screens with Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, an ambitious reimagining of the classic God of Destruction arc. Crunchyroll announced that it will simultaneously stream the series starting October 11 in Japanese with English subtitles across North America, Latin America, Europe, India, and Southeast Asia. The broadcast on Fuji TV inherits the prestigious Sunday evening timeslot previously held by One Piece, signaling Toei Animation's high confidence in the project.
Helmed by an experienced production crew under Toei Animation, the project features extensive new cuts, script revisions, and completely re-rendered footage designed to honor Akira Toriyama's original worldbuilding. Character designer and general animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro returns alongside composition and direction arrangement lead Matsuto Seya. Furthermore, musical accompaniment is provided by Norihito Sumitomo, with artists MEGATERA・ZERO and VK Blanka delivering the opening and ending theme songs respectively.
Global Platforms and Special Screenings
International fans will have multiple avenues to catch the premiere. Alongside Crunchyroll's worldwide rollout, Netflix has confirmed plans to stream the series in the United States starting October 17, with availability expanding to selected regions mid-October. Meanwhile, domestic viewers in Japan can access episodes via Amazon Prime Video and U-NEXT shortly after their linear broadcast.
Ahead of the broadcast, attendees at New York Comic Con on October 8 will witness an exclusive advance screening of the premiere episode during a special panel event featuring franchise leadership.
