The legendary universe created by Akira Toriyama is expanding once again as Netflix and Toei Animation prepare to launch Dragon Ball Super: Beerus this fall. The upcoming television anime series is scheduled to make its broadcast debut on Fuji TV and its affiliates on October 11, 2026, taking over the prestigious weekend timeslot previously held by One Piece. International audiences will not have to wait long, with Netflix confirming a United States streaming release on October 17, alongside regional availability starting as early as October 14.
Positioned as an enhanced and thoroughly reconstructed edition of the original Dragon Ball Super narrative, the project has been in development for several years under executive producer Akio Iyoku. The production team features veteran talent, including animation character design and general animation direction by Tadayoshi Yamamuro, composition and direction arrangement by Matsuto Seya, and musical scoring by Norihito Sumitomo. Voice actor Kōichi Yamadera returns to reprise his definitive role as Beerus, the God of Destruction, while theme songs are performed by artists MEGATERA・ZERO and VK Blanka.
According to official statements from the studio, the series features extensive new cuts, redrawn battle sequences, completely re-recorded voice work, and refined sound design. This meticulous overhaul aims to bring the adaptation closer to Toriyama's original conceptualization and worldbuilding. Fans attending New York Comic Con on October 8 will also have the exclusive opportunity to preview the very first episode during a dedicated special panel event.
