The cosmic martial arts saga is getting a major overhaul. Toei Animation has confirmed that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will officially premiere on October 11, stepping directly into the prestigious television timeslot previously held by One Piece on Fuji TV. This ambitious project aims to reconstruct and refine the iconic narrative arc centering around the God of Destruction.
According to producer Akio Iyoku, the series has been in production for several years as an enhanced edition designed to capture Akira Toriyama's original vision with greater fidelity. The project features comprehensive re-renderings of all footage, newly recorded voice tracks with updated sound effects, and newly redrawn animation cuts tailored to elevate the impact of the franchise's trademark combat sequences.
Global Broadcast and Streaming Lineup
International fans will experience minimal waiting times thanks to an extensive rollout across major digital platforms. Crunchyroll will stream the series simultaneously with its Japanese broadcast on October 11 across North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, India, and Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, Hulu has secured U.S. streaming rights starting October 11, with Netflix joining the distribution roster later in the month.
Creative Talent and Musical Direction
The production reunites legendary creative forces from the franchise history. Tadayoshi Yamamuro returns to handle animation character design and general animation direction, while Matsuto Seya directs and handles composition arrangement. Veteran composer Norihito Sumitomo returns to score the cosmic confrontations. Vocal performances are anchored by the return of Kōichi Yamadera as the formidable Beerus, accompanied by opening theme artist MEGATERA・ZERO and ending theme artist VK Blanka.
Several years have passed since the fierce battle against Majin Buu, and Earth has finally regained a brief moment of peace. At the same time, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his long, deep sleep...
