Official production teams have rolled out a striking new main key visual and trailer for the upcoming television special, titled Detective Conan: The Counterfeit Case of Ultra 30. Set to broadcast across Japan on September 25, 2026, via NTV’s prominent Friday Road Show programming block, the special serves as a major centerpiece for the anime's 30th-anniversary festivities.
Music veteran Mai Kuraki joins the anniversary project to perform the official theme song, titled “Hallelujah,” providing an energetic musical backdrop for the sprawling mystery. Directing duties for the special rest with Nobuhara Kamanaka, known for steering A Certain Scientific Accelerator and the Detective Conan Police Academy Arc Wild Police Story, alongside his current co-director role on the main Detective Conan series.
The narrative thrust takes Conan Edogawa, the Detective Boys, Hiroshi Agasa, Ran Mori, and Sonoko Suzuki into the Printing Bureau’s Nagano factory just as a brand-new 10,000 yen note design rolls out. What begins as an industrial visit quickly twists into a lethal murder investigation tied to a vast counterfeit money operation, drawing Conan and Heiji toward Osaka in pursuit of the culprits. Alongside this special, the official X account confirmed a subsequent three-week television story arc centering on Heiji and Kazuha, launching immediately after on September 26, 2026.
Originating from Gosho Aoyama’s iconic detective mystery manga serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday since January 1994, Detective Conan remains an unshakable titan of the Japanese entertainment industry. With 108 compiled tankobon volumes published and a 109th volume slated for October 2026, the property continues to command monumental box office numbers and critical adoration through its yearly theatrical features and robust television output.
