Fans of retro tabletop gaming and romantic-comedy manga will soon get another dose of nostalgic card-slinging. Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine revealed that writer Katsura Ise and artist Takuma Yokota are launching a special miniseries titled Destroy All Humans. They Can't Be Regenerated. -Timeshift-. The limited project is scheduled to debut in the magazine's December issue on October 26.
Katsura Ise confirmed via social media that the new spin-off will consist of four chapters published irregularly in the magazine. This brief return follows the conclusion of the main series, which wrapped up its serialization earlier this year in April 2025, with Kadokawa subsequently releasing the 18th and final compiled volume in June 2025.
A 90s Gaming Phenomenon
The original manga launched in November 2018 following a successful one-shot earlier that year, earning cooperation from Wizards of the Coast. Set against the backdrop of 1990s middle school life, the narrative follows protagonist Hajime Kano as his competitive rivalry with honor student Emi Sawatari shifts into the burgeoning world of competitive Magic: The Gathering. Viz Media publishes the English edition, bringing the nostalgic historical look at the TCG boom to international readers.
