The expansive card-battling universe created by Shogakukan continues to grow with the official debut of Duel Masters Pure Play's. The new manga series, which draws direct inspiration from the popular Duel Masters Play's smartphone title, officially began serialization on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic digital platform.
Manga artist Reki Yayoi illustrates the series, while Hirokuni Nojima—the art director, character designer, and scenario writer behind the original mobile game—is credited with the original narrative concept and editorial supervision.
The Zenith of Emotion
The story unfolds inside Duema City, a bustling metropolis where card game enthusiasts gather to duel. The narrative focuses on Kanon and Wedding, two mysterious entities known as "Zeniths" who possess little understanding of human society and sentiment. By encountering a colorful roster of cardfighters and navigating life across the city, the pair gradually begins to comprehend the nuances of human emotion.
The launch of Duel Masters Pure Play's arrives alongside an extensive expansion of the franchise's multimedia ecosystem, including the serialized Duel Masters LOST manga saga and its accompanying web anime adaptations.
