Virtual idol project Mugendai MewType, known for their appearance in the 13-episode anime series BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA, has surprised fans with a striking new musical release. The band has shared an official cover of «Orion wo Nazoru» by UNISON SQUARE GARDEN, a track universally recognized as the legendary opening theme for the beloved superhero anime series Tiger & Bunny.
The Evolution of Mugendai MewType
Formed in 2023 under the expansive umbrella of the BanG Dream! franchise, Mugendai MewType quickly carved out a distinct corner for themselves with their unique blend of multimedia storytelling and musical performances. Animation studio NICHICALINE brought their chaotic charm to life in BanG Dream! YUME∞MITA, capturing a journey of misfits thrust together into an unexpected musical lineup.
The multimedia project features a vibrant voice cast and character lineup, including Arale Nakamachi on vocals, Nonoka Miyanaga on lead guitar, Ritsu Minetsuki on rhythm guitar, Miyako Fuji on keyboard, and Yuno Sengoku handling DJ duties. They are joined by supporting vocal and character talents such as Kaede Hondo, Wakana Maruoka, Maaya Uchida, and Konomi Kohara.
Expanding Into Gaming
Following the conclusion of their anime broadcast streamed internationally via Muse Asia, the narrative momentum for the group shows no signs of slowing down. Franchise representatives confirmed that the band's journey will continue within the upcoming video game BanG Dream! Our Notes, scheduled for release on September 24, 2026. The game's inaugural in-game event spotlighting Yuno is slated to kick off shortly after on September 28.
