After five years of serialized dystopia and intricate dark fantasy, Ayaka Katayama's manga series Fungus and Iron (Kin to Tetsu) has officially drawn its curtain in the October issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. To commemorate the finale, the series graces both the issue's front cover and a special opening color spread featuring the story's major cast.

Five-Year Dystopian Journey

Set in a world dominated by parasitic fungi where humanity's thoughts and actions are rigidly controlled, Fungus and Iron stood out for its stark art style and philosophical narrative rhythm. While the printed publication has concluded, the franchise is far from finished. Kodansha confirmed that the 10th and final compiled volume is scheduled for release on October 8, accompanied by updates regarding the upcoming screen anime adaptation.

Celebrating the publication of its first compiled volume, the adaptation received a dedicated center color page in the magazine.
