The Shonen Jump Plus digital manga app sensation Futsu no Keionbu (Ordinary Light Music Club), written by Kuwahari and illustrated by Tetsuo Ideuchi, continues its triumphant march with the official announcement of its twelfth collected tankobon volume. Scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, the upcoming volume brings a massive treat for manga enthusiasts, highlighted by a special crossover endorsement from none other than Gege Akutami, the acclaimed creator of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Known for its grounded, deeply relatable portrayal of teenage growing pains and niche Japanese rock music obsession, the series follows first-year high school student Chihiro Hatano as she fumbles through forming a band and navigating adolescence. Volume 12 expands on this journey by packing exclusive bonus manga, developmental character design breakdowns, family background profiles for the Heart Break members, and behind-the-scenes production anecdotes.
The real centerpiece of this release, however, is the wraparound jacket band. Gege Akutami has contributed a brand-new, original illustration of bassist Rin Koyama accompanied by a witty, conversational message. Moving away from standard critical blurbs, Akutami crafts a playful dialogue exchange with the character, showcasing the creator's signature humor and artistic flair alongside a striking visual tribute.
