Renowned fighting game developer and publisher Arc System Works has announced the establishment of a brand-new internal development branch dubbed Arc System Works Tokyo Studio Takumi. Scheduled to open its doors on November 2, the studio marks a substantial scale-up in the company's production infrastructure as it prepares to tackle next-generation competitive titles.
The creation of the Takumi branch aims to radically expand the company's engineering and artistic throughput. Its inaugural assignment centers on an unannounced fighting game project that has received official backing under the "IP360" subsidy initiative, organized by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). Arc System Works positioned the location as an essential hub for creative collaboration and confirmed an immediate wave of recruitment across major technical and design disciplines.
Global Ambition
The studio serves as a strategic cornerstone for going beyond existing conventional game development frameworks and delivering an overwhelming sense of 'ultimate excitement' to players around the world.
Arc System Works Official Statement
The studio expansion follows an extraordinarily prolific season for the team behind Guilty Gear -Strive- and BlazBlue. In addition to recent experimental releases like the immigration sim Donutal, the studio rolled out Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls—a high-profile 4v4 tag battler produced alongside PlayStation Studios and Marvel Games—and readied a modern PlayStation 5 remaster for BlazBlue: CentralFiction. With Tokyo Studio Takumi entering full operation, Arc System Works signals a clear intent to cement its prestige on the competitive world stage.
