The tactical fantasy series A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special is officially returning for a second season, locked in for an October 2026 broadcast window. Studio Arvo Animation takes the helm once again under the direction of Taishi Kawaguchi. Accompanying the production update is a fresh promotional video confirming that legendary Japanese rock band FLOW will perform the new opening theme, titled "Sorrow," following their work on the first season's opening track "GET BACK."
Alongside the video material, the official team released a new key visual showcasing the core cast. The primary voice talent remains intact, featuring Takuma Terashima as Desir Herrman, Asami Seto as Azrest Kingscrown, Natsumi Fujiwara as Pram Schnaize, and Sayumi Suzushiro as Romaintica Elle.
Rewriting Destiny
Originally originating as a popular web novel penned by So-nan Yu and Uk-jakga on KakaoPage before expanding into a widely read webtoon illustrated by Wookjakga, the narrative blends high-stakes magic theory with time-regression mechanics. Published digitally by Piccoma and in print via Kadokawa Shoten in Japan, the property has cultivated a dedicated international following.
Shadow Realms have ravaged the earth and decimated almost everyone in their way. The survival of humanity hinges upon the success of just six mages, including analytic fighter Desir Herrman. The remaining heroes make one final stand to end the bloodshed…but to no avail. Desir closes his eyes on what should be the end of his life—only to open them and see the beginning of his school days. Desir has returned thirteen years back to the past, where he’s been given another chance to save the world.
With production underway at Arvo Animation, fans can track further development updates directly on the anime's official website ahead of its Autumn 2026 return.
