Industry creators Yū Aoki and Yuto Yotsuba have officially joined forces for a brand new manga venture. Aoki, renowned for her artwork on the magical girl workplace series Magilumiere Co. Ltd., announced on X that she has launched a fresh boat racing manga titled Boat Girl on the Piccoma platform. Yotsuba, the creative mind behind Ya Boy Kongming!, is credited with providing the original concept for this high-speed athletic project.
Creative Pedigree
This collaboration brings together two distinct creative powerhouses from contemporary manga publishing. Yū Aoki recently wrapped up the Magilumiere Co. Ltd. series alongside writer Sekka Iwata on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service in July 2025, with its final compiled book volume shipping shortly after. The workplace magical girl manga also received a notable television adaptation produced by J.C.Staff, spanning multiple seasons broadcast on NTV and streamed globally via Amazon Prime Video.
Meanwhile, Yuto Yotsuba continues an exceptionally prolific streak of manga development. Alongside the massive success of Ya Boy Kongming!—which inspired both a P.A. Works television anime and live-action adaptations—Yotsuba partnered with Yoshie Katō to launch the comedy series Tokyo Kinoko in August 2025. The addition of Boat Girl on Piccoma further expands Yotsuba's diverse portfolio across various digital serialization platforms.
