The official website for the television anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's acclaimed manga Yomi no Tsugai (also known in English as Daemons of the Shadow Realm) has officially confirmed that a second season is in active production. Following the conclusion of its extensive 24-episode run that began in Spring 2026, the series will continue to adapt Arakawa's intricate dark fantasy narrative.
Bones Film Returns for the Continuation
Animation studio Bones Film is returning to helm the production of the upcoming season, maintaining the distinct visual tone established during the first cour. Crunchyroll handled international streaming for the initial episodes, offering multiple subtitle and dub options for global audiences.
Arakawa launched the original manga series within the pages of Square Enix's Shounen Gangan magazine in December 2021. The franchise has since achieved substantial commercial success, boasting over 4 million copies of its collected volumes in circulation worldwide. Square Enix manages the English-language publication, with steady volume releases keeping pace with the Japanese editions.
