Ichijinsha has announced that the Though I Am an Inept Villainess light novel is officially entering its final arc. Titled “Hoshi ni Negai O” (translated as “Wish Upon a Star”), the final arc will commence with the light novel’s 13th volume, releasing on September 30.
Satsuki Nakamura self-published the original story on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in July 2020. Ichijinsha acquired the rights and published it with illustrations by Kana Yuki under their Ichijin Novels label. Doga Kobo adapted the light novel into a 2026 summer anime series.
The story follows Kou Reirin, a sickly maiden who swaps bodies via forbidden magic with Shu Keigetsu, gaining a robust physique and diving into unexpected court adventures.
