Streaming platform OceanVeil, operated by WWWave Corporation, has officially confirmed the debut schedule for the English dub of The Shy Snow Woman and the Cursed Ring (Hitozukiai ga Nigate na Mibōjin no Yuki Onna-san to Noroi no Yubiwa). Based on the adult dōjin manga by artist Puuzaki Puuna, the television anime adaptation brings its unique supernatural premise to international audiences starting October 4.
The English voice cast features Jordan Woollen as Satoru Takahashi, Leah Booth as Mifuyu Yukino, and CottontailVA as Kaede Kiryūin. Behind the scenes, the localization is managed by ADR Director Kevin Frane and Assistant Director Amanda Parker, with adaptation by Laura K. Welsh and mix engineering by Steve Warky Nunez.
Production Pedigree and Unique Origin
Animation production is handled by Studio Hōkiboshi with production backing from Suiseisha. The series is directed by Kazuomi Koga, featuring series composition by Eeyo Kurosaki, character designs by Minakyawa Akapiv, and chief animation direction by Miyako Nishida. Sound direction is led by Mikumo Amakuwa under Studio Mouse, while Hitomi Suzune performs the opening theme song titled "Choux Cream."
Creator Puuzaki Puuna previously highlighted that this project marks a rare milestone: a direct television anime adaptation springing from an adult dōjin manga source without preceding commercial serialized volumes—a format typically reserved for OVAS in this category. Furthermore, the television broadcast will feature an original narrative path distinct from the original two-volume color manga published in English by Irodori Comics.
