The upcoming romantic comedy anime The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me (Shio Taio no Sato san ga Ore dake amai) has officially locked in an October 6 broadcast start date. Alongside the premiere confirmation, producers released a substantial main trailer showcasing the evolving dynamic between the lead characters, accompanied by previews of the series' musical lineup.
The newly unveiled trailer highlights the contrast between Koharu's intimidating public reputation and her tender private demeanor toward Sota. In addition to the visual preview, the production committee confirmed that Masayoshi Oishi will perform the opening theme song titled "Joker Salt." Meanwhile, the ending theme "Hatsukoi Reply" will be performed by HoneyWorks featuring Nijisanji VTuber Hoshikawa Sara. A striking second key visual was also published to commemorate the announcement.

Based on the light novel series written by Kazami Sawatari and illustrated by Achiki, the story originally debuted as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro before moving to Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko label in 2019. The literary side of the franchise continues to grow, with its thirteenth main volume slated for release shortly after the anime's debut in October 2026. A manga adaptation illustrated by Kaya Tetsuyama is also serialized for readers.
Animation production is anchored by Tezuka Productions, with Fumihiro Yoshimura directing the project. Character designs are handled by Daisuke Okushima. The principal voice cast features Hiiro Ishibashi stepping into the role of Sota Oshio, paired alongside Miku Ito voicing the titular Koharu Sato.
