A striking new collaboration visual has brought together two major romantic fantasy anime adaptations penned by the same author, Kureha. The crossover artwork unites the currently airing The Ogre’s Bride (Oni no Hanayome) and the upcoming Bride of the Barrier Master (Kekkaishi no Ichirinka), placing their main couples side-by-side in celebration of the shared creative universe.
The Ogre’s Bride premiered on July 4, 2026, under the direction of Kazuhito Omiya at Colored Pencil Animation Japan. The series adapts Kureha's popular light novel framework—originally illustrated by Yu Shiroya and serialized via Starts Publishing—which explores a supernatural world where ordinary schoolgirl Yuzu captures the attention of Reiya, a powerful ogre clan leader. Alongside the ongoing television broadcast and a manga adaptation by Jun Togashi, the property also received a live-action feature film earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Bride of the Barrier Master prepares for its broadcast debut in January 2027, featuring animation production by TROYCA under the direction of Toru Kitahata. Based on Kureha's separate light novel series illustrated by Bodax and published by Kadokawa, the narrative follows Hana, a barrier-weaver who attempts to conceal her awakening power until she crosses paths with the formidable Saku Ichinomiya. With both franchises sharing a thematic foundation of hidden abilities, supernatural romance, and protagonists stepping out from the shadows of their talented siblings, this joint visual offers fans a rare celebration of Kureha's expanding fantasy repertoire.
