A rare meeting of modern supernatural icons has officially materialized. Ahead of their impending international theatrical campaigns, Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- and TYPE-MOON's upcoming feature adaptation Witch on the Holy Night (Mahoutsukai no Yoru) have debuted a joint collaboration visual highlighting their respective heroines, Madoka Kaname and Aoko Aozaki.
Parallel Journeys
The crossover bridges two generations of influential urban fantasy. Walpurgisnacht: Rising serves as the direct continuation to 2013's Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Rebellion, resuming the psychological deconstruction engineered by Magica Quartet and studio SHAFT. After premiering in Japan on August 28, 2026, the film heads to United States cinemas between January 16 and January 19, 2027, complete with subtitled and English dubbed screenings.
On the opposite side of the pairing, studio ufotable is finalizing Witch on the Holy Night, bringing Kinoko Nasu's foundational visual novel to theatrical screens. Following its Japanese debut on November 20, 2026, the film will reach theaters in the United States and Canada on January 29, 2027, closing out a winter release window heavily dominated by Aniplex-distributed cinematic productions.
