The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life has revealed a new action trailer ahead of the anime’s October 2026 premiere. The anime was announced in February. Animated by P.A.WORKS, the fantasy series follows Rein Garland, an enchantment mage who is expelled from his guild despite spending years strengthening their equipment. As it goes, after reclaiming every enhancement he had placed on his former comrades’ gear, Rein sets off on a new adventure and discovers the true potential of his abilities.
The voice cast for the anime includes Daiki Yamashita as Rein Garland, Lynn as Lily Flambert, Yoshino Aoyama as Margaret Els, Miyu Tomita as Mirabelle, Megumi Han as Elsie Sora, Konomi Kohara as Nina, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Hanbun, Makoto Furukawa as Cornelius, and Rie Shibata as the Mother of Assassins.
The anime is directed by Shu Honma at P.A.WORKS. Series composition is handled by Yoko Yonaiyama, while Tadahito Kiyosawa will serve as the character designer and co-chief animation director alongside Masami Gohda. The anime adapts the manga version illustrated by Gyomuyomochi, which differs from Rokushima’s original light novels.
Studio P.A.WORKS’ recent anime adaptations include Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze and Skip and Loafer. The original web novel by Asa Rokushima began on Shosetsuka ni Naro in January 2021 before being adapted into manga and light novels.
