The upcoming television adaptation of The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan (Saikyō Mahōshi no Inton Keikaku) has surfaced with a flurry of production details, confirming a 2027 broadcast window across TBS, CBC, and 26 affiliated channels via the "Agaru Anime" programming block. Author Izushiro and illustrator Ruria Miyuki's fantasy light novel property is stepping firmly into the spotlight under the guidance of animation studio HOTLINE.
Headlining the newly unveiled voice cast is Eri Yukimura, who will step into the role of Tesfia "Fia" Fable—a sharp-witted ice magic user and first-year peer at the prestigious academy where protagonist Alus Reigin attempts to conceal his legendary past. Yukimura joins previously announced leads Yūto Uemura as Alus and Yui Ogura as Loki Leevahl, rounding out the core dynamic of prodigies and secret-keepers.
Behind the camera, Yūsuke Suzuki is directing the series at studio HOTLINE, with series composition overseen by Gigaemon Ichikawa. Character designs are spearheaded by Yūki Kitajima, translating Miyuki's light novel illustrations into animation-ready models, while Takatoshi Hamano manages audio direction. The source material, licensed in English by J-Novel Club, follows Alus Reigin—a sixteen-year-old war hero and the nation's top-ranked magicmaster among over 100,000 practitioners—who seeks quiet retirement by enrolling in a specialized magic academy.
Expanding the Magical Universe
In tandem with the anime's production schedule, franchise creator Karu Yoneshiro is preparing a brand-new prequel manga titled Saikyō Mahōshi no Inton Keikaku Zero -Hajimari no Hishi-roku-, slated to launch this winter. This companion work will explore Alus's formative years prior to his academy enrollment, bridging vital narrative gaps for longtime fans of the Shōsetsuka ni Narō web novel, which Hobby Japan has published through 20 volumes.
