Manga artist Saka Mikami, the creative mind behind the acclaimed romance series The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity (Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku), is scheduled to make an in-person appearance at Kodansha USA’s pop-up space in Manhattan this fall. The showcase, titled Kodansha House, will welcome visitors in the Hudson Yards district from October 9 through October 18, 2026.
Mikami will headline an exclusive question-and-answer panel paired with an autograph session on October 10, followed by a dedicated signing engagement on October 11. Due to high demand and strict venue capacity, admission to both sessions was allocated via a randomized lottery drawing, which has officially concluded registration.
Rising Profile Across Print and Screen
Since debuting on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket platform in October 2021, the narrative has grown into a major modern romantic benchmark, accumulating 24 collected tankobon volumes by autumn 2026. The coming-of-age title earned critical recognition as a multi-time nominee in the Shonen category at both the 47th and 48th Kodansha Manga Awards.

Mikami’s appearance marks the continuing expansion of Kodansha House, which debuted in SoHo back in 2024 before hosting notable creators like Muneyuki Kaneshiro, Yusuke Nomura, and Kamome Shirahama during summer stops in Los Angeles.
